Real Wedding: Sara & Ian

Sara and Ian were married on a warm summer day in Northern California at Scott’s Garden.    With tons of DIY touches including hand made chalk board signs, baby’s breath bouquets & boutonnieres,  and pinwheels for the  flower girls- this real wedding was nothing short of personal.  (You may have even caught me tweeting about it months in advance.  If you haven’t noticed the similarities in the photos and caught on yet, Sara is my sister).

Sara and Ian tied the knot almost one full year to the day they got engaged.  Ian (being the hopeless romantic that he is) planned a beautiful proposal for my sister.  And yes, the entire family knew before Sara did!  Ian planned an entire surprise weekend for Sara, and told her that it would be a last “hurrah” before going back to work after the long Summer break.  Day one, Ian took Sara on a hot air balloon ride complete with champagne and a beautiful view of the Napa Valley.  Did he pop the question there? Nope.  Meanwhile, we were all following the pictures on Instagram and thinking what the hold up was… Later that evening, he took her to Morimoto, where they enjoyed one of the best meals they have ever eaten!  But still- no ring.

Ian had it all figured out of course, and ended up popping the question the next day.  On a hike to Mt. Tam’s Mountain Theater, Ian got down on one knee and finally asked Sara to marry him.  After all, only a scenic mountain top proposal could possibly top a hot air balloon ride through the beautiful country side.  I hope you enjoy the beautiful photos from Sara & Ian’s day. Cheer’s to many years, Sara & Ian!
