Brittney and Joey’s real wedding is a true reflection of how family-oriented they are when it came to planning their wedding at the Aldredge House in Dallas. With all the personalized details on the beautifully executed day, it’s hard to believe they pulled it all together in a whirlwind of just three and a half months. This bride knew exactly what she wanted and went with her gut instincts!
Brittney and Joey had been friends for four years and shared a similar group of friends. They were always mutually intrigued by one another, but with Brittney being right out of college when they first met timing never seemed quite right for the couple. Until the one day it was. Joey asked Brittney out on their first date the summer after she graduated from Physical Therapy school and the timing seemed to finally be perfect. They had four years to build a friendship so love came very quickly for the couple. The thrill of this new relationship culminated in their engagement just seven months later. For the big proposal Joey had gone all out: limousine, exquisite dinner, violinist, candle lit tree by the water. This groom definitely gets points in our book!
With help of family and friends, the couple had their big day planned in just under four months! Two of the most touching aspects to this real wedding that we can’t help but swoon over was that Joey’s dad not only put the band together but he was the pianist for the first dance to Norah Jones’ “Come away with me.” In addition, the couple’s cake was made by the same woman who had made Joey’s mom’s wedding cake.
We definitely agree with Brittney when she said that a short engagement requires a relatively laid back bride, or one who has been planning a very long time and knows what she wants.
“I guess when you know, you know. And we’re enjoying the adventure of still knowing” – Brittney.
