Engagement Photos: Making the Grade

It would only make sense for this couple to have their engagement photos taken on the University of Southern California‘s campus, where the MBA program (and some one-on-one “tutoring”) brought them together!

While September marks the end of summer and the beginning of the football Fall season (goodbye til February, husband!), I thought I’d bring some fun “back to school” inspiration to the blog this morning with these engagement photos, captured by the talented Richard Clarke from Clarkie Photography.

I love this couple’s story: Kristen and Matt met while getting their MBAs at USC. They didn’t actually have any classes together, but they both served on the leadership board and attended the season’s tailgates. It wasn’t until a night out in Manhattan Beach, though, that either realized the spark obviously strong enough to last! Kristen was out to dinner with a gal pal when Matt and his buddy walked by. The two instantly recognized each other and reintroduced themselves, and (without much persuasion) the boys agreed to bar hop with the cute girls. As the evening continued and chemistry grew (no pun intended), Matt agreed to be Kristen’s Statistics tutor and put his number in her phone. They spent a lot of time that quarter “studying” but Kristen admits her grade didn’t improve much…however she definitely made the grade in scoring the man of her dreams!

Matt proposed to Kristen at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. She thought it was a special dinner celebrating her new job with Gallup, which she had just accepted. Little did Kristen know, Matt was preparing a memorable evening where he was going to ask her to marry him. Of course she said “Yes!” The couple plans to tie the knot this Fall in La Quinta, CA.
