Fabulous Finds: Sweet Save the Dates

Likely, your Save the Date will be the first impression you make on your wedding guests, so why not give your announcement a little POP of personality? Get started with these fabulous finds!

It’s fun to incorporate your engagement photos into your Save the Date, or a cute timeline of your relationship as seen below in our fabulous finds (#9) from Wedding Paper Divas. If you want to spread the word by thinking outside the box (or postcard), I love these DIY matchbooks by Papermade (#6). Or, send your guests “event tickets” (#7) by Marit Hanson Weddings if you and your hunny are concert lovers or music-fest fans. Whatever you choose, make it “you”!

Think about what defines you as a couple, and the theme of your wedding before ordering Save the Dates. You want your first formal announcement of your wedding date to reflect both of those elements. Consider the style of your wedding – casual beach? formal ballroom? rustic ranch? – and stick to something that goes with your theme. The Save the Date sets the tone and lets your guests know what they should expect on your Big Day. A lot of your guests will begin thinking about travel arrangements and even attire when they receive your Save the Date in the mail! So, it’s not a bad idea to include a link to your website (and make sure you have it live before mailing off your announcements!) where your guests can get all the details for your wedding and any other weekend activities, registries, and information you want to share with them.

Most importantly, have fun with it! There are limitless options. Choose a Save the Date you’ll be excited to send, and make sure you stay within your “Save the Date” budget – don’t forget about postage!
