This handsome Major and F-18 pilot met his stunning, country-loving sweetheart through mutual friends, and it was only a matter of months before they “just knew.” Their beautiful real wedding reflects the love and respect they uphold for one another, and the abundant love that surrounds them in return.
Less than a year after meeting each other, Lisa and Warren knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. The romantic and private proposal took place at Lisa’s favorite resort in Santa Barbara: Bacara, and just three weeks after she said “yes,” Warren was deployed to the Middle East. But this devoted couple didn’t let distance stand in their way; most of their time together during the engagement (and wedding planning) was spent over Skype with a ten-hour time difference. Lisa took her mom to many of the wedding prep appointments, but she saved the food and cake tastings until Warren returned, which made for some very special memories!
The two hail from opposite coasts, however Warren and Lisa both have a heart for service; something they love and respect about each other. Warren joined the US Marine Corps after graduating from high school, and later joined the reserves as he attended James Madison University. Upon graduating, he returned to the USMC and has since served overseas during his five deployments. Lisa echoes Warren’s commitment to service through teaching. After gradating from UCSB, Lisa moved to Dallas, Texas to teach Math in an undeserved community. Lisa finds great fulfillment in teaching and being a mentor for her students.
In addition to serving others, another love of Lisa and Warren’s is country music! Though this wedding was a very formal affair, Lisa did a surprise line dance with her bridesmaids, which kicked off a night of dancing after all the memorable formalities were complete!
