Kate & Dan’s real wedding took place at Santaluz, nestled between the mountains and the desert in San Diego. Kate & Dan were married September 8, 2012 in a creative ceremony that was full of surprises and modern twists.
Their wedding ceremony was a mesh of rustic vintage and modern decor. I love the fact that Kate had a vintage birdcage veil and a lace dress, while her bridesmaids were wearing Tom’s shoes. Such a fun and unexpected mix of a vintage meets modern trend. Most brides wouldn’t think of doing that.
Kate’s creativity and free spirit really shines through these images captured by Josh Aull Photography. It is very apparent that this bride is anything but traditional. I especially love Kate’s nail polish choice. I’m really glad she didn’t go for the traditional french mani or nude nail. Not many brides would opt for a bright colored nail on their wedding day (especially in the Fall!) and I like that she took the ‘risk’. The green nails really worked in her favor and truly complete the images.
We hope you enjoy the photographs from Kate & Dan’s wedding. Hopefully you are inspired to think outside the box when it comes to planning your own special day. Don’t be afraid to sport that green nail, or mix vintage and modern. It will definitely pay off!
