Real Wedding: Tricia & Blake

Tricia Bjornson, 34, and Blake Andrews, 36, met in Santa Monica in October 2010. The two became fast friends, but when Tricia invited Blake, who leads special projects at TOMS Shoes, to her birthday dinner, sparks began to fly. “After a few drinks, I told him that I had a crush on him,” says Tricia, the founder of Givebones, a company that supports dog shelters and rescue organizations. “We’ve been together ever since.” In March 2012, Blake got down on one knee and popped the question. The couple, who now reside in Manhattan Beach, made it official last August during an elegant beach-themed wedding at Blake’s parents’ La Jolla home.

Teal pashminas and parasols were provided to make guests comfy in La Jolla’s varying weather.

Family and friends were welcomed to the patio, lower garden, courtyard and pool area. The pool was topped with a translucent cover to convert it into a dance floor.

The ocean was the inspiration for the turquoise hues, while shades of papaya, pumpkin and apricot complemented the Andrews’ beautiful Spanish-style home.

Tricia surprised Blake, an avid surfer, with a custom surfboard signed by wedding guests.

Tricia’s Monique Lhuillier dress was actually a two-piece she matched together herself. Her girlfriend stitched a blue heart onto the label for her
“something blue.”

Orange flowers incorporated one of the wedding’s major colors, succulents provided texture and an aqua ribbon tied the arrangement together.

The couple opted out of bridesmaids and groomsmen, but Blake had his father by his side during the ceremony.

The couple kept guests entertained with a magician at the reception. “Blake is obsessed with magic!”
