Despite growing up in Rancho Bernardo together, attending the same high school, and both attending SDSU, Bree and Jon did not cross paths until three years ago at a mutual friend’s birthday bbq. Just 18 months later, they were engaged!
Jon wanted to propose when Bree was least expecting it. So for her birthday dinner he insisted they go to their favorite hidden winery, Cordiano. Bree was slightly confused- Cordiano is entirely outside and it had been pouring rain all day. He persisted and thankfully she agreed, because when they arrived, the owners of the winery had prepared a small candlelight table for two right outside the kitchen.
In between courses, Jon asked Bree to step outside (yes, in the rain) where he asked Bree to give him a birthday gift that would last a lifetime. After the proposal and dinner, Jon surprised Bree with a champagne and birthday cake celebration at his parents’ house with their closest family and friends.
When I asked Bree what her favorite memories from the wedding were, she remembers “the amount of love that was surrounding us all day. And…dancing in my amazing Lazaro dress!” Another special touch that reflected the couple’s love of fun (and got the party started) was in lieu of a champagne toast, they invited guests to join them in taking a shot of Patron! Even the groom’s 87 year old grandpa threw one back!
We hope you enjoy the stunning images from their real wedding, captured by Melissa McClure Photography.
