Shane and Jillian grew up in the same neighborhood and met at the little league field when he was thirteen and she was twelve. They dated on and off until she went away to college. When Jillian returned from the University of Redlands, they decided to give it one last shot. Good thing they did, because 3 years later, Shane proposed at a “surprise party” for his birthday that Jillian spent months planning. Turns out the party was no surprise at all; Shane was part of the planning all along and knew it would be the perfect opportunity to put a ring on it! Jillian was shocked.
Shane’s passion led him to work on F-18 fighter jets for the department of defense, making the USS Midway the perfect location for their engagement photos. Although photographing at Seaport Village on a summer weekend is not ideal, photographers and native San Diegans Danny and Anthony of Bella Luz Photography got creative and had a blast with Jillian and Shane, especially when an intoxicated fisherman tried to lock the crew out while they were shooting on the dock!
