Real Wedding: Zoe & Jeffrey

Zoe and Jeff have the groom’s brother—and best man—to thank for their romance after meeting at his birthday party in Hollywood. Jeff later proposed at the picturesque Solstice Canyon in Malibu.  As Zoe’s parents were married at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, it was the ideal locale for their royal-inspired fête.

Divine Dress

Because the bride is an apparel designer, she designed her own one-of-a kind gown. Her form-fitting, ivory silk taffeta dress featured hundreds of hand-stitched Italian-silk flowerets.

Wedding Festivities

Zoe and Jeffrey kept their one hundred guests entertained with a three-day celebration centered around Torrey Pines, ending with a golf tournament on Sunday.

A Royal Affair

The ceremony was a Royal Wedding-inspired black tie affair with the aisle covered in an actual red carpet and vows exchanged under an enormous crystal chandelier.

Surprise, Surprise

Zoe surprised her husband by having her Maid of Honor, Chrissy Dunn, sing him “All of Your Life” by The Band Perry.

Hometown Homage

The bride grew up attending the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, Kentucky. The church’s Assistant Pastor and family friend, Rick Nickels, served as officiant.

A Spiritual Affair

The couple and the officiant braided the Cord of God together, which consists of three strands tied around a brass ring, symbolizing the unity of the bride, groom, and God.

Nail Biter

Right before the ceremony, Zoe and her father, Paul, were watching the exciting last two minutes of the University of Kentucky’s Final Four basketball game in the bridal changing room. Despite their attempts to sneak back to the television, they had to find out the results after the ceremony.

Couple’s Best Friends

Zoe and Jeff’s two dogs, Bambi and Roosevelt, took part in the ceremony, donning a bridesmaid’s dress and bow tie.

Personalized Touches

Courtesy of the bride’s grandmother, each guest received an antique handkerchief embroidered with the couple’s names and wedding date. Attendees also received a customized menu as their name card.

In Limbo

The couple’s favorite moment at the reception was the limbo competition–complete with a trophy awarded to the winner.
