The Costas began dating a few weeks before Chris joined the military, but they never let the distance come between them. Sharon frequently traveled for visits while he was away, and they eventually moved to San Antonio, Texas, together. A year after their move, Chris surprised Sharon with a sunset proposal on a golf course, complete with a blanket, candles, rose petals, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Their wedding had a serendipitous date—exactly three years after their first kiss.
Sky High
“We love modern, simple design and had our hearts set on getting married on a rooftop with city views. The second we saw the roof of the Andaz hotel, we knew it was the place,” Sharon raves.
Dress Delay
A bride’s worst nightmare— UPS lost Sharon’s gown in shipping from Texas to California. She successfully scrambled to find a new dress, but thankfully her original Vera Wang gown turned up just in time for the wedding.
Bridesmaid Bumps
The bride had not one, not two, but three pregnant bridesmaids. Von Vonni’s Transformer dresses can be worn in over 25 ways and worked for all eight ladies.
Unexpected Delivery
Sharon surprised Chris with a Rolex while he was getting ready for the ceremony—his shocked look was captured on camera!
Special Tune
John Mayer’s “Free Fallin’” became Sharon’s favorite after Chris sang along with the car radio when they were newly dating. At the ceremony, the couple had a guitarist play an instrumental version.
Dinner Menu
Guests enjoyed ahi tuna, crab, and avocado; baked brie with raspberry compote; caprese salad; braised short ribs in a red wine reduction; sea bass; and vegetarian risotto.
Drink Up
The couple had a “shot bar” with shots of tequila and lime, Bailey’s and coffee, and milk and cookies.
Favorite Moment
Fans of cheesy songs, the couple sang Michael Bolton’s “Said I Loved You…But I Lied” to each other while they cut the cake.
Tropical Trip
The Costas headed to Bora Bora and Tahiti for their honeymoon.
