Real Wedding: Sabrina & Matthew

The Thompsons met during a tennis date with mutual friends in La Jolla, which led to three years of dating. When ready to pop the question, Matthew whisked her away to a secluded romantic spot: a balcony perched on the cliffs of La Jolla, overlooking the pier, where she said, “Yes.” The couple knew they wanted a rooftop wedding and fell in love with the Andaz Hotel for its modern edgy vibe and phenomenal views.

The Dress
A stunning Simone Carvalli—a very feminine silk gown with a sweetheart neckline that was full of ruffles.

Bridesmaids’ Style
The ladies wore Etsy convertible dresses in shades of pink that they could style to taste.

Groomsmen’s Attire
The guys donned vests, orange or yellow Ben Sherman ties, and white PF Flyer leather high tops.

Creative Creations
Sabrina and Matthew designed their colorful and playful save-the-date cards and stationery completely from scratch.

Heart Pangs
“As soon as she walked down the aisle, I grabbed her hand,” Matt gushes. “It was such an amazing moment.”

Scheme of Things
A whimsical summertime feel with bright pinks, yellow, and orange, sunny daisies, and natural elements such as wood and grass.

First Dance
A down-tempo acoustic rendition of the couple’s favorite song “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service.

Cuisine
A feast of their brunch favorites: short ribs, macaroni and cheese with truffle oil, yogurt parfait with fresh berries, croque madames, and matching pink, yellow, and orange macaroons.

Biggest Surprise
Matt broke out in song and serenaded Sabrina with “Sweet Caroline.”
