After visiting 60 venues, Jaymi and Will Hainlen fell in love with the Viceroy in Palm Springs for its intimate, classy feel and lovely gardens, which fit perfectly with the bride’s vision for the wedding. She incorporated a lot of her own props and personal flare to complement the already gorgeous venue. Palm Springs also felt like an idyllic meeting ground for their guests from Arizona and California, as they wanted everyone to enjoy a mini-vacation in the desert.
Puppy Love
A stamp of their miniature pinscher and Italian greyhound’s silhouettes appeared on the invitations, save-the-date cards, and linen gift bags.
Window to the Soul
The bride’s favorite moment occurred at the altar as they gazed into each other’s eyes, and took in the surreal moment.
Her Dress
A strapless Enzoani with a gorgeous ivory lace and flower belt, complete with a cathedral-length veil.
Something Borrowed
Jaymi’s mother sewed lace and pearl pieces from her own wedding dress into her daughter’s garter.
Heavenly Touch
The couple incorporated a “God’s Knot” ritual in the ceremony, tying a three-cord knot to represent a bond between them and God.
Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend
Will surprised Jaymi with a simple Tiffany necklace with a diamond center that she wore with her gown. Jaymi had Will’s name engraved onto the front of a Bible as her gift to her beloved.
Heirlooms
Honoring her late grandmother, Jaymi incorporated sentimental treasures such as her grandmother’s lace, luggage, antique sewing machine, and costume jewelry into the décor.
Quilted Sentiments
At each table setting, a piece of fabric was wrapped around every napkin so that guests could write a note on it to the bride and groom. These pieces were sewn together to become a keepsake quilt.
Edible Elegance
Instead of the traditional cake, guests enjoyed a creative candy bar set on old dressers with drawers filled with colorful treats such as licorice, peach rings, chocolates, and chocolate chip cookies.
Three is a Magic Number
The couple started dating on 3/3/03; Will proposed on 3/3/10; and their wedding was on 6/10/11—the numbers add up to 27, a multiple of three. Jaymi’s engagement ring has 27 diamonds, and they had two bands made, for a total of three rings, all symbolizing Will’s favorite number.
