It was love at first sight for Chloe the moment she saw “the most gorgeous man ever.” Grant popped the question during a romantic picnic on the magical beach at Wineglass Bay in Tasmania. Two hundred people later gathered in the groom’s parents’ backyard on Coronado Island to witness the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Hamor.
Something Old
The bride added lace from her great-grandmother’s wedding dress to her own and wore her aunt’s timeless veil.
Four-legged Ring bearer
Chloe’s best friend, Buff, a yellow lab, joined the wedding party sporting a lavender leash to match the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s ties.
Pre-wedding Om
Chloe’s sister, a yoga instructor, rented CorePower, in Point Loma, and taught a class for the bridesmaids and a few brave groomsmen.
Announcing Mr. & Mrs.
Grant’s favorite moment was arriving at the open-air tent for the reception where everyone was cheering and giving them high fives.
Theme
With the blue water, soaring Coronado Bridge, and the city skyline as a backdrop, the reception spoke of rustic romance, featuring lace, antique cake stands, paper pinwheels, wooden frames, off-white and pale pink flowers like garden roses and hydrangea, and muted succulents.
Bride’s Favorite Detail
Crocheted lace table runners that tied everything together and played off the ivory crochet lace of her strapless A-line dress.
First Dance
During “Take My Breath Away” from Top Gun the guests leapt to their feet and cheered while the wedding party joined them on the dance floor.
Sentimental Serenade
Grant’s mom wrote a song for the couple when they got engaged, so she hired a professional singer to perform it live at the reception.
Divine Dessert
Flour Power created a red velvet, lemon poppy seed, and chocolate mousse cake whose white and cream stripes matched the invites, escort cards, flags, and menu style.
Edible Favors
Hand-packaged fudge from Coronado in twine-tied boxes.
Honeymoon Highlight
Before flying off to Mykonos, Greece, the couple spent one romantic night at The Plaza in Manhattan—Chloe’s dream and a “once-in-a-lifetime” extravagant experience.
