Look at these stunning wedding cakes! We are specifically highlighting the pretty (& delicious) wedding cakes from Sweet Cheeks Baking Company. This bakery is a favorite to lots of San Diego weddings and we know why….their decor and flavor are top notch. To end this post, we are showing off pictures from a night of champagne, wedding cakes, decorating, and learning with the teams at Sweet Cheeks Baking and Bliss Events. On May 18th, the Bliss Events team gathered at the kitchen of Sweet Cheeks Baking Company to learn all about wedding cakes. They had some hors d’oeuvres and champagne, then Elaine & Donna with Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. shared their vast knowledge. They learned about the construction of wedding cakes, the various steps they take in putting them together, and how to fix buttercream “mess-ups” with confidence. Next, was the most fun part — decorating the cakes! They talked about adorning cakes with fresh flowers, and got to decorate their very own cupcakes to take home. At the end they cut the cake and enjoyed the yummy fruit of their labor! The goal of this event was to educate the Bliss Events team so they can learn the best way to work with vendors and enhance their clients’ events.

1. “The differences in ingredients between natural cakes, fillings, and icings and artificial ones. They even brought in a sample of artificial fondant and had us sample it so we could understand.”
2. “Watching Donna construct (frost & stack) the bottom tier of a wedding cake, and the meticulous steps she takes to make sure it’s perfect.”
3. “How to frost a cupcake beautifully… we loved being given the frosting bags and being able to use our own hands to make something!”
