Our sweet friend and freelance writer for the magazine, Christina was recently married at Orfila Winery and we are so happy to share her beautiful wedding! We’ll let her tell you in her own words about her inspiration:
“As soon as I moved to California, I knew that someday I’d get married in a vineyard. When Eddie and I were planning our wedding, we knew we wanted it to be a comfortable day that was different from any wedding we’d ever been to — something that felt laid-back and stylish at the same time. Orfila Winery was the perfect setting — a gorgeous backdrop, a relaxed atmosphere and a place all of our out-of-town guests would love to visit.
Every style idea we had pointed to a vintage chic theme with touches of whimsy — pinwheel place cards, cotton candy, purple lantern centerpieces, mason jar favors, colorful argyle socks for the groomsmen, and a 1956 right-hand drive Daimler that we arrived in. We chose chocolate brown and purple for colors because there are so many different shades of purple that all work well together that really pop against a rich brown. It was perfect for a fall winery wedding.
Eddie’s suit was awesomely vintage — a brown tweed three-piece that went perfectly with his porkpie hat and the groomsmen’s vest and flat cap combo. I loved my bridesmaids’ dresses by Watters. Since I had so many bridesmaids, I wanted them each to look a little different, so there were three different colored purple sashes for them to choose from. Plus, they had pockets, which the girls loved!
My dress was an all-over lace halter with a satin sash, all in champagne. I went with a romantic hairstyle, with braids in the front and loose curls, accentuated by a champagne flower clip and birdcage veil. Perhaps the only thing that wasn’t vintage-inspired was my shoes — they were modern and fabulous. My “something blue” Christian Louboutin satin d’Orsay stilettos — because nothing says “Love” like Christian Louboutin.”

Thanks for sharing ladies and congrats Christina and Eddie!!
Christina, deep purple and rich chocolate brown are two of my favorite colors together! This is lovely.
I love the colors and the setting. Those pinwheels are so fun!
All I can say is, “Holy hell, those shoes!”
What a gorgeous wedding!
I would love to know where your groomsmen found their outfits.
