The most fun part of working on Exquisite Weddings Magazine is putting together photo shoots. They take a ton of planning, extreme organization and a great team of collaborative and creative people but the reward is worth it. You get amazing images that tell exactly the story you were hoping to communicate. Today I’m showing you behind the scenes pictures of an editorial feature we did for our upcoming issue giving brides ideas on how to pull off a complete look for their wedding day.
This particular photoshoot took place earlier this month at photographer Nick Abadilla‘s studio in downtown San Diego. Nick welcomed us ladies into his studio and we spent the afternoon playing dress up with gowns and jewelry! Tough day, right? The idea was to dress up real brides and give them a head-to-toe look. To top it off, we wanted to do a look for the ceremony and another for the reception. We collaborated with Audra Rene, an extremely talented and friendly hair & makeup artist in Mission Valley. We were lucky to find two beautiful brides-to-be to work on this with us. The first bride was Allison, the creator and editor of Engaged & Inspired. Her blog constantly inspires us. We were happy to get to meet her in person and hear about all the special details she is planning for her wedding. An interesting tidbit: She did her blog post that day from her phone while she was getting her hair done! The second bride was Carrie Shields, the public relations director for Bailey Gardiner. Even though she admitted she was nervous about the photoshoot, she completely rocked it! Her positive energy and excitement about her upcoming nuptials was fun to be around. Both brides will be wed this upcoming April.
Items for dress up that day….beautiful gowns from The White Flower Bridal Boutique and Isis Bridal Boutique, an abundance of eye-catching jewelry from Mimi & Lu and Jennifer Rea Jewelry and fun hair pieces by Rachel Larraine. What else could a girl ask for? Oh yeah, a bouquet! Thanks to Rae Florae we had two pretty bouquets that smelled just wonderful.
Are you ready to see the completed looks? We are so pleased with how the images turned out. You’ll have to get the spring 2011 issue of Exquisite Wedding magazine to see what we pulled of this day! The magazine will be on newsstands March 1st, or you can pre-order a copy by clicking here. Thank you Nick Abadilla for capturing these behind the scenes photos.
