The mix of contemporary and vintage details in Stephanie and Jimmy’s wedding makes for such a stylish, elegant look. Plus, the San Diego Natural History Museum is such a unique reception choice.
The Story: They had worked together for a year each secretly harboring romantic feelings for the other, until one evening the truth bore out. Just when she was about to confess her feelings, his heart spoke first. “He said that he loved me, and we’ve been together ever since,” recalls the bride happily.
Several times a week, Stefanie Venter and Jimmy Navarra, who live in Mission Hills, San Diego, used to walk their dog past the Immaculate Conception Church in Old Town. Cherishing the idea that their future walks would occasionally take them past the place of their union, they had little trouble agreeing on the ceremony venue. “We also really liked the feeling of comfort and serenity we got each time we entered the church,” adds Jimmy.
After the wedding rehearsal, the family, wedding party and special friends strolled over to Casa Del Guadalajara, a Mexican restaurant where guests enjoyed an outdoor feast in the Old World ambiance of a traditional hacienda patio. All the while, they were serenaded by a mariachi band playing such favorites as “Cielito Lindo.”
