Sure, you’ve been to Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus before. But have you been to the branches in Las Vegas? Whether you opt to walk Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, shop among the stars at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles or swim through the crowds at Miami’s Bal Harbor, here are 30 places to help you wear out your credit cards.

Boston

Copley Place

Newbury Street
Combine a British high street with L.A.’s Rodeo Drive, and you get Newbury Street. Explore eight blocks of charming shops and international fashion. Look for antiques, jewelry and, of course, fine dining. Between Commonwealth Avenue and Boylston Street.

Charles Street
If boutique shopping is more your style, head to Charles Street in Beacon Hill. This historic area is not painted with neon lights; rather, it gives off more of a village/cottage vibe. Olde-fashioned signs identify stores that sell everything from antiques to books—and clothes, of course.

Chicago

Northbrook Court
In the center of Chicago’s growing North Shore, this classy mall is home to Neiman Marcus, Marshall Field’s and Lord & Taylor. Browse around the 36,500-square-foot Crate & Barrel home store. 2171 Northbrook Court, 847-498-8161.

The Magnificent Mile

Oak Street

Dallas

Highland Park Village
Opened in 1931, this is recognized as the first shopping center in America. With more than 200,000 retail square feet, the elegant center is home to Cole Haan, Chanel Boutique, Williams-Sonoma and many more. Mockingbird Lane at Preston Road.

North Park Mall

The Galleria
With three levels, an indoor skating rink and more than 200 world-class stores to choose from, the Galleria is one of Dallas’ busiest places. Denver

Cherry Creek Mall
Two miles from downtown Denver, this granite-and-glass edifice holds Banana Republic, Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and many more. Tabor Center

Park Meadows
Five miles south of Denver and home to Colorado’s first Nordstrom, Park Meadows houses 100 unique specialty shops. The inside architecture gives off a ski-resort feeling—don’t forget to get your free hot chocolate. 8401 Park Meadows Center Drive, 303-792-2533.

 

Las Vegas

 

Desert Passage
Shoppers can choose from 130 shops hidden in an eight-story mountainside surrounding the Aladdin Resort & Casino. The Fashion Show
After a dramatic $362 million expansion, this venue has become one of the nation’s largest shopping centers. The Forum Shops

Los Angeles

The Beverly Center

Robertson Boulevard
Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston shop here. It’s becoming more fashionable and trendy—and is less congested than Melrose and Rodeo Drive. West Hollywood between Beverly Boulevard and Third Street.

Third Street Promenade
Situated near the Pacific Ocean, this energetic open-air pedestrian street epitomizes the Southern California lifestyle. Street performers bedeck the thrilling promenade, lined with distinctive restaurants and shops. Downtown Santa Monica on Third Street.

 

Miami

Dadeland Mall

Bal Harbor

Aventura Mall

Palm Springs

Palm Canyon Drive
Historic Palm Canyon Drive is home to a number of boutiques unique to Palm Springs. Lined with beautiful palm trees, this stretch of road looks like a living California postcard; the shop selection puts you inside the postcard.

Westfield Shoppingtown

Cabazon Outlets

San Francisco

Stonestown Mall
Near the west end of the city, Stonestown has superb atmosphere, with luxurious gleaming Italian marble and sweeping glass skylights. Inside, there’s Macy’s, Nordstrom and Borders Bookstore. 3251 20th Avenue, 415-564-8848.

Union Street
Enjoy the ambience and charm. This sophisticated area between Filbert Street and Green Street is home to 200 shops and galleries. There are privately owned stores, as well as chains like A|X Armani Exchange. An awesome place to people-watch.

Union Square
Not to be confused with Union Street. Cable car access makes for an easy trip to this downtown cluster of shops. Department stores include Nordstrom, Macy’s and Emporium. Tiffany and Chanel are also here, along with Niketown, Urban Outfitters and J. Crew.

 

Washington, D.C.

Georgetown
D.C.’s best-known shopping district. Stroll Wisconsin Avenue and M Street and enjoy numerous shops and boutiques. Exclusive retailers like Betsey Johnson and Ralph Lauren are here; so are classics like Gap and Victoria’s Secret.

Fashion Centre at Pentagon City
Near the nation’s capital, this traditional shopping mall is accessible by Metrorail. Take a scenic glass-elevator ride and discover the 170 shops, like Ann Taylor, bebe, Banana Republic and Coach.
