Looming Landscapes

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego presents “Maya Lin: Systematic Landscapes” at its downtown location through June 30. Prelude and Interlude

New Village Arts Theatre brings its talents to Craig Lucas’ Prelude to a Kiss, nominated for both a Pulitzer and a Tony, in which a mystery guest kisses the bride and changes her life——and her husband’s. Men Behaving Badly

David Mamet took a turn-of-the-(last)-century piece by Harley Granville Barker and sharpened its focus on the fine lines drawn between money matters and the moral high ground. Homegrown

The California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum features the work of six San Diego–based artists——all recipients of the San Diego Art Prize——in its new exhibition, “Innocence Is Questionable.” The works by Jean Lowe, Ernest Silva, Raul Guerrero, Iana Quesnell, May-ling Martinez and Yvonne Venegas are on display through May 31. 760-839-4120; artcenter.org.

Fragile Family

Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie illuminates the intricate connections holding the Wingfields together, with illusions every bit as delicate as the glass animals of the title. Global Lens

In Living Color

Sky Parade

The Port of San Diego Sea & Air Parade kicks off 2008 Fleet Week San Diego on May 3. The U.S. Navy puts sea vessels and aircraft through their paces around the Embarcadero and San Diego Bay, beginning at 11 a.m. Following the free parade, the Red Bull Air Race World Series takes to the skies above the bay for two days of competition, May 3 and 4. 619-858-1545; fleetweeksandiego.org.

¡Fiesta!

The 25th annual Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo takes over historic Old Town May 3 and 4 with free activities and entertainment for the entire family.
