Dining Details Personal Chef Service
I got involved in weddings because our clients kept asking for them! Our clients become clients for life, and take comfort in having us manage all of the culinary details of their celebrations, knowing that the food and service will always impress and exceed expectations. We were doing weddings in the private estates of our long time clients, so naturally the next step was opening that opportunity to new clients and different types of venues.
I find inspiration in getting to know the bride, groom, and their families as much as possible before the wedding. I love getting together a few times before the wedding in personal places, like the bride's parents' home or a favorite coffee house or park, so I can get a very keen sense of the personalities and sentiments involved in the wedding. I'm inspired by stories of the first meeting, the first date, the proposal... I know what type of clients I am working with so I can really play on what is most important to them in their lives.
My dream wedding includes a big farm table in a garden setting or vineyard with lots of color, flowers, and candlelight. We love small plate dinners, with lots of tastes and variety, all centered on what is local and seasonal.
My passion outside of work is my family and friends. My favorite thing at this point in my life is sitting on a blanket with my husband and baby - in the backyard, on the beach, at a park, anywhere - just rolling around, playing together, and laughing... laughing... laughing. There is nothing as joyful as my baby's laughter.
My favorite part of a wedding is the dancing! Watching the bride swish around in her princess dress, shining like the most beautiful woman in the world, and the groom, strutting his stuff on the floor, so proud and happy. It's the time and place of the wedding where everyone can let loose and get down with the honored couple!
If I could travel anywhere, I’d go anywhere! Before I started Dining Details I traveled the world for 5 years. It was just me, my backpack, and my sense of adventure. Now that I am more "tied down" with family, business, and a more domesticated existence, I long to travel to South Africa, to Italy and South of France, back to Bali and Southeast Asia. Even a trip across the US would make me happy. I cannot wait to get back to traveling!
My advice to a bride on her wedding day is to enjoy every moment. It goes so fast! Don't worry about anything but having fun and doing exactly what you want on your day- if you are having fun, everyone will be having fun. People will have fun just watching you and celebrating in your honor- don't stress about a thing! Relish in all the smiling faces and happy hearts that are there just for YOU!
I love Exquisite Weddings because it is a pleasurable experience looking through the magazine. It feels nice to the touch, is appealing to the eye (it’s not as busy as most bridal magazines!), and you know you can trust the editorials and their vendor picks. It is a great resource for brides who really do want to throw an "Exquisite Wedding."
