Creative Director's Letter

FROM WHIMSICAL TABLETOP DESIGNS to out-of-the-ordinary attire for the groom and wedding party, this issue of Exquisite Weddings focuses on expressing your style. Every wedding is a reflection of one’s personality, heritage and desire to create a memorable event, and with each issue we help you turn your wedding dreams into reality.
Before the previous issue was printed I was still in the process of planning my own wedding, but in Real Weddings I finally showcase my special day that transformed me from Ms. Holstrom to Mrs. McNees. A benefit of planning for my own nuptials was that I could use personal experiences for story ideas. Not knowing where the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue came from, I decided to reveal its origins to make this custom more meaningful. It is exciting to be featured alongside other couples in love, and I invite you to be awed by their stories and inspired by their design ideas as you prepare for your big day.
Another perk of working for Exquisite Weddings is the strong rapport I have with vendors; however, this made the task of selecting one for my own wedding more daunting. I’m sure most brides have this problem, and in the end some don’t choose just one. I couldn’t decide between photographers and decided to use a different vendor for my rehearsal day. Suzanne Hansen’s fun style was brilliant and truly captured the excitement, anxiety and intimacy that epitomize most rehearsals. We are fortunate to have such a vast wedding talent pool in our community.
