Another Great Weekend

We had another great weekend with Rich's family. His mom flew down to help Deb get settled into her new place and to continue to help me with wedding stuff.

We started the weekend off with a fabulous meal at Whisk n Ladle in La Jolla. What a fabulous place! I need to go back just for the fun cocktails not to mention the incredible food. It's the perfect place if you want to impress your adventurous "foodie" friends.

I highly recommend trying the London's Burning - roasted jalapeno water, lime and sapphire gin for your cocktail; and the Chorizo & Date Fritters with Tomato Piquillo Sauce as an appetizer. But really I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

On Saturday, after nursing our hangovers, we went to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad to start off our flower filled day. Talk about gorgeous! It really is breathtaking! And the weather was so perfect we couldn't have asked for a better day. Rows upon rows of flowers of all colors, I had a field day (no pun intended) and snapped hundreds of photos. FYI...visiting the Flower Fields would be a great way to spend Mother's Day!

OK, ok back to wedding stuff...we finally made our way to Wholesale Flowers and Supplies. What an incredible place! They have gorgeous fresh cut flowers, vases, RIBBON, everything you could ever imagine for your wedding décor. It's one stop shopping!

I know I'm starting to sound a little salesy here. But seriously, if you want to do it yourself...you can. And this place has what you need. We bought a bunch of Calla lilies, a couple vases and some other goodies to create gorgeous centerpieces.

We took everything home and Rich's mom whipped up some incredible creations. I think we've just about narrowed down the look we want but you'll have to wait until after the wedding to see what we've come up with.
