An Exquisite Event

This week I was invited to an event at Chez Bride Moderne hosted by Exquisite Weddings. I brought along my friend and neighbor Kelly who is also getting married this summer.

As you know I have most of my planning out of the way but it was really great to get a chance to talk to the different vendors at the event. Kelly and I got some great ideas, tasted some delicious food and indulged in bubbly champagne.

It was a lot of fun to go back to Chez Bride, Kelly and I loved looking through all the dresses and seeing the new fashions that have come in. They have some of the most incredible gowns available. I was able to chat with Holly again and meet Cher for the first time. It was the perfect place to hold the event.

Set up at the front of the store was an AMAZING centerpiece put together by Kathy Wright. It was truly stunning. I would try to describe it to you but I wouldn’t be doing it justice so I’ll just tell you that it was a modern tropical masterpiece.

We also enjoyed chatting it up with Cary Pennington of Cary Pennington Photography. He was gracious enough to let me drool over his fancy camera. And we browsed through his gorgeous wedding albums and got a lot of great ideas for our own wedding photos.

Scott Wagner of ChileCo brought some delicious appetizers for us to taste. Including a delicious litchi dish (which is a popular South African fruit). Everything he brought along was perfectly paired with our tasty champagne.

Kel and I also had a chance to chat with John Jacques of The Gentlemen’s Tux Club which brings up the whole “what is Rich going to wear thing.” I don’t know about any of you but that’s not something I really thought about when dreaming up the perfect wedding. So I think I’ll leave it up to him. Maybe I’ll even have him blog about it….

We ended the night checking out the incredible cake creations by CAKE and getting some great advice from Leah Nelson at The Bridal Bar. Oh and of course Exquisite Weddings sent us off with a fabulous gift bag full of lots of pampering goodies that every bride needs.

My Mom is coming into town this weekend so hopefully we can finalize a few more wedding details and then spend a nice relaxing weekend together.
