Winter Reverie
WINTER REVERIE
A painting titled Winter Reverie inspired Kristin Garubaís stark palette of deep purples and blues against a winter-like, barren botanical landscape. The owner of Pink Papaya, Garuba designed a tablescape fit for our fall/winter issueóSpanish moss, hydrangea and dahlias are clustered in a sandblasted manzanita tree. Additional fuschia-colored dahlias add a splash of color, while a porcelain statue of Quan Yin, the Chinese goddess of mercy and compassion, adds cultural significance to the centerpiece. The goddessí vase pours a stream of healing water, and the dragon at her feet represents high spirituality, wisdom, strength and divine powers of transformation ... exactly the kind of gifts all newlyweds should receive.
