Taking Flight

Susanne Duffy of Crown Weddings looked to spring for inspiration for this ceremony setting and tablescape. After all, she says, ìSpringtime is a time for new beginnings and growth, just like a marriage.î Like a dream taking flight, the design incorporates white and silver butterflies throughoutódraped from a wrought-iron canopy frame, perched on the backs of chairs, and spread across tables dressed in silver silk linens. Chocolate-brown chair cushions and fruitwood chivaris emulate the bark of trees, while a textured deep-platinum overlay mimics sunlight shining through bare branches. She kept flowers low and white to evoke images of white crocuses as they peak out of green springtime grass. White rose petals and white hanging orchids represent the last bits of snow as it melts to reveal the trees and forest floor.
