Tabletops that set the scene and dazzle the senses
TIME STANDS STILL at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Paths meander around blooming landscape. Red-tile roofs bask in the sun. And charming cottages beckon a bygone era.
Once the site of eucalyptus tree cultivation, the property took shape in 1922, after its owners retained the services of architectural firm Requa and Jackson. At the time a young architect, the talented Lilian Rice designed the property’s first building: a Spanish Revival-style guesthouse called La Morada (“house of many rooms”). From there, she continued to transform the village of Rancho Santa Fe, the homes, and The Inn—creating a community of historic and romantic significance.
Situated beneath a magnificent eucalyptus grove, The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is the Eden-like setting that has played host to presidents, royalty and Hollywood’s elite. Today, it’s the site of tablescapes that turn heads: grand visions of flora, fruit and fabrics—all designed to command attention and welcome even the most prestigious guests.
