The Invitation

The next step in my wedding planning is working on the invitations. My Mom and I decided to make them ourselves, and I figured, the money we have budgeted for our wedding, could be better spent elsewhere.

Unfortunately I’m terrible at making decisions….

I have no idea what I want for the invitations. One day it’s a wild print; the next day it’s solid, simple colors. One day it’s ribbons and bows and the next it’s stamps and stencils.

Some things I do know is that I:

  • Want to tie in the colors of my wedding (mostly yellows)
  • Like the look of simple, classic monograms
  • Think bellybands are the coolest, but finding the right one isn’t so cool.
  • Don’t want frilly and foofy. It’s just not me.

My incredible mother got to work and came up with a bunch of ideas (she even took a class!) and mailed them out to me. She did an AMAZING job with them; I swear she should start a business.

Unfortunately there isn’t one that’s jumping out at me saying, “I’m the one! Pick me! Pick me!” So hopefully that’s where you guys come in. Below are photos that my talented fiancé took of each invitation my Mom created. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Which ones do you like best? Should we go with a print or keep it simple?

While I consider myself a pretty creative person, I definitely need all the help I can get with this. I’m stumped! So please let me know what you think!

Ooh, they're all great! Nice work Dany!! :)

If I HAD to choose one, or a combonation from these six, I'd choose the "invitation" of #1 with the sleeve of #5 or #6. Love them all though!!!
